That’s Not My Name

Week after week, I testify to the power and authority of God.

I do so, having walked through many fires.

Weathered many storms.

Crawled out of the deepest pits.

Through it all, God never failed me, ever.

I’ve experienced His divine intervention, every time, at the most critical point.

Looking back, I clearly see the purpose.

I clearly see all the preparation in the pain.

All the details are clear in His plan.

You see, God is in every single detail.

1 Chronicles 28:19 says “David concluded, “By the Lord’s hand on me, He enabled me to understand everything in writing, all the details of the plan.”

David has assembled every leader of Israel together concerning the future construction of the temple of Jerusalem. If you read back from verse 11, the description of materials and intricate plans are just remarkable!  David has everything in perfect order and ready to go for Soloman to successfully execute the construction according to God’s divine design.  David was faithful  to have his eyes centered on Him, on God and his plan was crystal clear, nothing left out.

I love what David says to Solomon in verse 20, “…Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He won’t leave you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the Lord’s house is finished.” 1 Chronicles‬ ‭28‬:‭20‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

You can hear the faith and confidence in David’s words.

David is speaking from experience.  He knows without a shadow of a doubt that God will not fail.

When we see every experience as an opportunity for learning, this is the moment we hit a whole new level of spiritual maturity.

When we have David-like confidence, we know our circumstance is merely preparation for what is to come.

It’s a setup for wisdom and knowledge to use down the road.

The details are in the plan and God is in every detail.

The day to day trials we walk through, even the most gut punching hits in life cannot be allowed to define who we are.

Don’t let it label you.

Don’t let the mountain in front of you define you.

That is not who you are.

That’s not your name.

You are God’s righteousness in Christ Jesus. Romans 3:22

Say it out loud…”I am God’s righteousness in Christ Jesus.”

My God is famous for moving mountains!

My God is a God of miracles!

The God of David is the same God we serve today, amen?

Be strong and courageous!

The Lord God, my God will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
