Healing Humanity
The decline of humanity is not easily corrected through the installation and establishment of more rules or laws, the decline of humanity is only rectified through a deeper morality through Christ Jesus, only in knowing who we are, who we really are. When we can instill and establish our true identity in God, His righteousness through Christ Jesus then our morality is deepened and then healing humanity comes full circle in kindness, truth, justice and love.
“For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”
Romans 8:6 ESV
The eyes of God are upon us.
In 2 Chronicles 16:9 it says “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
Asa, the king of Judah, mistakenly stopped seeking God, even in his health, and he died an early death. Asa’s son Jehoshaphat then took reign over Judah and the word says in 2 Chronicles 17:6, he was deeply committed to the ways of the Lord.
He removed all of the idols from Judah and sent his officials to teach the Word of God all around. As their knowledge grew, so did their fear of the Lord. Now, keep in mind the word fear here is a reverent fear, one out of respect and worship of God.
As their knowledge grew….
the word also says men perish for lack of knowledge. Church, when we become more diligent in the teaching of the gospel, then we will begin healing. Knowledge has to increase and the only way to increase knowledge is to increase the number of teachers to teach. Are you following me? Amen?
However, Jehoshaphat’s first priority, his first call to action was to fortify Judah from any further attacks.
We must provide protection to our most vulnerable of all, our children.
I believe this is a timely word from God. I believe His call is loud and clear. “His eyes are upon us.” He is searching to and fro for those who will say yes to His call and remain fixed in loyalty to Him.
Humanity is not going to heal itself, it will take the church, teaching the truth found in God’s word. Everything we need right now as a nation is found in the Bible. We must become a nation on our knees, humbling ourselves before the mighty hand of God. It’s time to turn away from the pagan gods that have corrupted the streets of our cities and states. It’s time to turn our eyes to God.
Let each of us seek God and His righteousness that we would know how to instruct and lead this great revival. This is my simple prayer today; “Holy Spirit, lead us, guide us, direct us in what we ought to say so that our hearts be softened, eyes be open and ears ready to hear.”
2 Chronicles 20:4 says “So they gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.” They gathered together and came to seek the Lord. This should be our call to action.
Healing humanity begins within each one of us. Healing humanity begins with each one of us taking responsibility for our own individual healing. Healing humanity begins with loving one another as Jesus instructed us to do.
Jehoshaphat went on to battle one of the most significant battles found in scripture. 2 Chronicles 20:18 says “And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord.”
He knew where his help would come from. He knew the faithfulness of God to deliver him and all his nations from the hands of destruction. He knew his exaltation began face down, on his knees before our almighty Father God. Amen? This is how I want to fight my battles today. I have the blessed assurance that when I fall to my knees and cry out to my Father God that He will faithfully meet me right there.
“To You I lift my eyes,
O You who are enthroned in the heavens!
Behold, as the eyes of
Servants
Look to the hand of their
Masters,
As the eyes of a maidservant
To the hand of her mistress,
So our eyes look to the Lord
Our God,
Until He has mercy upon us.
Have mercy upon us, O Lord,
Have mercy upon us,
For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
Our soul is exceedingly filled with
the scorn of those who are
At ease,
With the contempt of the proud.
Psalm 123 ESV
